Your data

Privacy

What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you stay in control. Effective 9 October 2026.

1. Who we are

We Saudis (wesaudis.com) is operated by كنا هنا للتسويق الإلكتروني (“we”, “us”). We are the party responsible for your personal data on this site. Contact: hello@wesaudis.com. We have not appointed a separate data protection officer; all privacy requests go to the same address.

2. What we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, the date and time you gave consent, the version of the consent wording you agreed to, and the language of the form. Giving your email is optional; it is required only if you want the newsletter.

If you just read the site: nothing is stored about you by us, except the standard technical log kept by our web server (your IP address, the page requested, time and browser type). This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.

If you email us: your message and email address, so we can reply.

3. Why, and on what basis

  • Newsletter: to send you the We Saudis newsletter. Basis: your consent, given by ticking the box on the sign-up form.
  • Server logs: to keep the site secure and working, and to block abuse. Basis: our legitimate interest in operating a safe website.
  • Emails to us: to answer you, including corrections and privacy requests.

We do not sell, rent or share your data with advertisers, and we do not use it for any purpose other than those above.

4. How long we keep it

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. When you do, your email address and consent record are deleted from our list straight away.
  • Server logs: about 14 days, then deleted automatically.
  • Emails to us: as long as needed to deal with your message.

5. Where it is kept and who can see it

Newsletter data is stored on a server we manage ourselves; we do not use an outside mailing service. The server is supplied by our hosting provider, who acts only on our instructions, and is located in Germany. This means your email address is stored outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We send nothing there beyond what the newsletter needs. Access is limited to us. We protect the data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted server access, and by collecting only what the newsletter needs.

6. Your rights

Under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law you have the right to:

  • be told how your data is used (this page);
  • access your data and receive a copy in a clear, readable format;
  • ask us to correct, complete or update it;
  • ask us to delete it when it is no longer needed;
  • withdraw your consent at any time.

To use any of these rights, write to hello@wesaudis.com. We answer within 30 days.

7. Withdrawing consent

Unsubscribing is as easy as subscribing: use the unsubscribe page, or the link at the foot of every newsletter. It is free and takes effect immediately. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before.

8. If something goes wrong

If a security incident affects your personal data, we will notify the competent authority and, where it could harm you, tell you directly, within the time limits set by law.

9. Children

The newsletter is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Complaints and changes

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You may also complain to the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), the competent authority for personal data protection. If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top; if a change affects how we use your email, we will ask for your consent again.

11. Language

This policy is published in English and Arabic, and both texts carry the same meaning.

Translations into other languages are provided for convenience; if they differ, the English and Arabic texts prevail.
