The National Museum, the story of Arabia in eight halls

Behind a crescent-shaped façade in Riyadh, the history of the Arabian Peninsula told from the beginning.

The building

The Saudi National Museum stands in the heart of Riyadh, in the al-Murabba district, as part of the King Abdulaziz Historical Center. It opened in 1999, and its crescent-shaped façade makes it one of the city's landmarks.

It is supervised by the Ministry of Culture.

Inside

Its permanent galleries fill two floors, four halls on each. They follow the human story of the Arabian Peninsula in order, from the Man and Universe hall to the hall of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques. Two further halls host visiting and temporary exhibitions.
