Tabuk Castle, four centuries of rebuilding

First built in 1568 and restored again and again, it is now the Tabuk Archaeological Castle Museum.

The castle

Tabuk Castle stands in the city of Tabuk on the ruins of an older fort; its original construction dates back to 1568. It was restored in 1654, fully renovated in 1843, as an inscription in the mihrab of its upper mosque records, and restored again in 1951 and 1993.

It covers about 2,500 m² on two floors. The ground floor has an open courtyard, rooms, a mosque and a well; the upper floor has an open-air mosque and guard towers.

The museum

After restoration work in 2013 it became the Tabuk Archaeological Castle Museum, displaying archaeological and heritage pieces.
