On the corniche
Al-Khobar Waterfront runs 2,300 m along the corniche of Al-Khobar Governorate, facing the Arabian Gulf, and covers about 500,000 m². Overseen by the Eastern Province Municipality, it sets small lakes and green lawns beside seating that looks straight out to sea.
It is built for families and for exercise: children's play areas, restaurants and cafés, sports fields, a long jogging track and a dedicated cycle path. Marinas along the shore serve boat trips onto the Gulf.
The city behind it
Al-Khobar is one of the Eastern Province's twelve governorates, bordered by Dammam to the north and north-west, and the 2022 census counted about 658,600 residents. Its coastline gives it 30 km of waterfront in all, and the King Fahd Causeway, about 25 km long, links that coast to Bahrain.
What comes next
A development launched in 2024 covers more than 265,000 m² and over 4 km of shore. It adds a 4,000 m pedestrian path, a 9,000 m cycle path, three new play areas, an interactive ground fountain, more than 900 trees and a new sandy beach.
